Claire Victoria Madill

Claire Madill represented me as an attorney in the Office of the Public Defender, 15th Judicial Circuit, in Palm Beach County. Claire was extremely communicative through every court appearance and made me aware of my options. I was charged with misdemeanor battery. I was acting in self-defense. I rai...sed self-defense at trial; however, due to an oversight, the jury was not properly instructed on self-defense. Claire wrote all court briefs that pointed out this error. When the error was pointed out, all three judges of the appellate court unanimously reversed the conviction and the state subsequently decided to drop the charge. Specifically, the state filed a “nolle prosequi,” which “amounts to a dismissal” of the charge and ended all further criminal proceedings. In other words, I do not have a conviction on my record and filed paperwork to have the charge expunged from my record.
