Benjamin T. Boscolo is a nationally recognized trial lawyer, President, and Owner of CHASENBOSCOLO, one of the leading workers’ compensation and personal injury law firms in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. With more than 35 years of experience, Ben has devoted his career to fighting for injured workers and individuals who have been treated unfairly by the legal system. His legal skill, integrity, and results-driven advocacy have earned him the profession’s highest peer honors, including being named “Lawyer of the Year” for Workers’ Compensation Law – Claimants in Washington, D.C., recognition in The Best Lawyers in America®, an AV Preeminent® rating from Martindale-Hubbell, and continuous selection to Super Lawyers for over two decades.
Ben is widely respected as a passionate and fearless advocate whose work has helped expand workers’ compensation protections through precedent-setting legal victories, particularly for professional athletes and injured workers facing complex claims. In recognition of his impact in the courtroom and on the development of the law, he was named Trial Lawyer of the Year by the Maryland Association for Justice in 2015—one of the organization’s highest honors.
Under Ben’s leadership, CHASENBOSCOLO has grown into a firm of more than 30 attorneys and legal professionals, united by a shared commitment to client-centered advocacy and justice. Ben leads by example, maintaining a hands-on trial practice while mentoring attorneys and shaping firm culture around excellence, ethics, and accountability. Clients know him not only for his legal acumen but also for his compassion, accessibility, and unwavering dedication to protecting their rights and livelihoods.
Ben’s practice focuses on workers’ compensation, personal injury, and complex injury litigation, including cases involving catastrophic injuries, traumatic brain injuries, construction accidents, trucking collisions, premises liability, and inadequate security. He is also nationally known for representing professional athletes and has served as Designated Workers’ Compensation Counsel for major players’ associations, including the NFLPA, MLSPA, and PHPA. He is co-chair of the workers’ compensation panels for the NFLPA and PHPA. His work in this area has made him a trusted authority on the intersection of workers’ compensation law and professional sports. He was honored as the 2002 PHPA Workers’ Compensation Panel member of the year
In addition to his trial work, Ben is a recognized leader in the legal profession. He is a Fellow of the American College of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers, the American Bar Foundation, the Maryland Bar Foundation, and the Litigation Counsel of America—honors reserved for attorneys who have demonstrated exceptional skill, professionalism, and service to the law. He has served as Past Chair of the Maryland State Bar Association’s Section Council on Negligence, Insurance, and Workers’ Compensation and as Past President of the Maryland Workers’ Compensation Educational Association, further reflecting his commitment to advancing legal education and professional standards.
Ben is also deeply involved in legal education and thought leadership. He serves as Co-Dean and Faculty Member of the Keenan Trial Institute, where he helps train trial lawyers from across the country. He has authored and contributed to legal publications, including scholarly work addressing workers’ compensation rights and remedies for professional athletes, reinforcing his role as a leading voice in this specialized area of law.
Ben earned his Juris Doctor from American University Washington College of Law, where he received the Dean’s Award for Professional Responsibility as the outstanding clinical student in his graduating class. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Lafayette College, where he studied government and law and was active in academic and athletic pursuits.
Ben is admitted to practice before State and Federal Courts in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia, as well as the United States Supreme Court. His peers have consistently recognized him for ethical excellence and professional achievement.
Outside of his legal practice, Ben is a devoted family man. He is married and the proud father of three children. His wife, Shari Boscolo, is a retired trial lawyer who previously practiced at CHASENBOSCOLO. Together, they share a longstanding commitment to justice, advocacy, and service—values that continue to shape Ben’s work both in and out of the courtroom.
