Eric Darden has formed a new Firm called Copperleaf Law. Its members now include four lawyers with over 100 years of experience in the fields of litigation, real estate, construction law, estates, elder law, trusts, wills, and soon criminal and domestic law. After spending 27 years in Washington, DC as the Managing Partner and Head of boutique law firm's litigation practice groups, Eric realized that the cost of litigating for the satisfaction of one's rights had become cost prohibitive. Hence, the start of Copperleaf Law where the top billing rate for experienced litigation attorneys is $275 an hour.
His experience remains the same - as does the experience of those he has brought with him to his new firm. As for Eric, within the past five years, he has first chaired or stood as the predominant advisory attorney in cases that have generated verdicts in excess of $100 million dollars. His clients range from local architects, engineers, contractors, developers, and subcontractors, to Central American companies building hotels and resorts overseas. He has arbitrated claims in Ohio over construction disputes on Ethanol Plant construction projects, and worked with developers in Las Vegas on Casino projects. At times he has operated as outside counsel for some of the largest condominium developers in the United States, and one of the largest asbestos / hazardous waste remediation contractors. Yet, on a daily basis he counsels small family owned construction companies and offers them the same valued legal advice. Fees are tailored to the size of the case and the client, recognizing the industries tough bottom line. His team represents Fortune 500 companies, banks, developers, real estate agents and comapnies, and individuals who desire the highest level of legal representation.
How is this done? Because the fancy offices, the huge salaries, and the tremendous overhead have been left behind. The practice of law has now entered the 21st century. Competent. Dedicated. Affordable. Quality at a reasonable price. Seasoned, at a reasonable price. No longer reinventing the wheel at the client's cost. Copperleaf Law.

I worked with Eric many times in the past and have found him to be acutely familiar with construction issues which is of paramount importance when litigating construction disputes. This is especially important when cross examining experts and fact witnesses. Other attorneys do not know when witness...

I worked with Eric on a couple of construction claim disputes and quickly learned that he is one of the better attorneys in the construction litigation community. He gets knee deep in the details and understands the fine distinction points that are necessary to win the dispute. Further, his cross-e...

Not only would I recommend Eric, I have recommended Eric to various business associates! First and foremost, Eric Darden is interested in finding a solution to the issue at-hand; NOT padding his bill. While compromise is generally his first inclination, he has absolutely no trepidation about vigoro...

Eric is one of a very few attorneys who has a firm grasp of construction and legal practices. On a very difficult case in DC, Eric's command of the facts allowed him to destroy the integrity of opposing fact and expert witnesses. I have worked with Eric on many cases and without exception he wins e...
