I'm an advocate and educator who uses values-based estate planning strategies to empower individuals and families to create, protect, and transfer wealth. I build strategic partnerships with other wealth professionals (advisors in the financial, real estate, charitable giving, and business development sectors) to increase wealth capacity for a wide range of clients: individuals both young and young at heart, small and large families, exceptional and blended families, entrepreneurs, and multi-member owned organizations. I enable businesses to more deeply connect and invest in their communities by establishing, protecting, and crafting succession plans for their entities. I also guide families through the complex and draining process of probate administration and litigation.
I am a workshop facilitator, guest lecturer, keynote speaker, and published writer on various topics within estate planning, multigenerational wealth, millennial wealth building, and leadership. I have been featured in the Maryland Bar Journal, and at the Association of Black Estate Planning Professionals' Creating a Legacy Conference, the Worcester Women's Leadership Conference, and have appeared on local news and the Gettin' Grown podcast.
I serve as an Adjunct Professor of Law in the Academic Success Program at the University of the District of Columbia's David A. Clarke School of Law (an HBCU), and teach Civic Action/Mock Trial to middle and high school students at the Cheverly STEM Education Center.
I am a board member and the legal counsel for the Young, Black & Giving Back Institute; board member of the Prince George’s County Women’s Bar Association where I help to provide programming to the Thomas J. Waxter’s Juvenile Detention Facility; and Steward Board member at Kingdom Fellowship AME Church. I also co-host the Mary & Martha Podcast, where I encourage women to live empowered and impactful lives of faith.
I am an enthusiastic laugher and hiker (weather permitting). Feel free to connect!
