John Paul Davey

John P. Davey is anaccomplished practitioner and business advocate who routinely advises corporatedecision makers in all aspects of their business practices.  As the Managing Director of O’Malley, Miles,Nylen & Gilmore, P.A. and as a former Chief Administrative Officer of the Prince George’s County Government, Mr. Davey hasfirsthand knowledge of the myriad challenges facing regional businessleaders.  He utilizes his executive-levelexperience to advise Chief Executive Officers, Managing Members of LimitedLiability Companies, and other business leaders on matters relating totransactions and formation, contract preparation and negotiation, acquisitions,strategic planning, and conflict resolution.

In addition to his businessexpertise, Mr. Davey has significant experience in the successfulrepresentation of builders and developers of mixed-use and transit-oriented residentialand commercial projects, including such clients as The Peterson Companies,Foulger-Pratt/Argo Investments, and Prince George’s County, Maryland.  Mr. Davey’s twelve year tenure on the Boardof Directors of the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) equipshim with a unique perspective on governmental agency regulatory processes and makeshim an effective leader for facilities-intensive projects.  In conjunction with his representation ofbuilders and developers of large development projects, Mr. Davey has acquired extensiveknowledge of the public financing approval process and has skillfully counseledhis clients on how to secure such financing for their projects.  Mr. Davey regularly represents businessowners, builders, and developers before administrative agencies at the State,County, and Municipal levels throughout Maryland.

Mr. Davey is one of ahandful of attorneys in Maryland to beaccredited by the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy andEnvironmental Design (LEED) program as a LEED Accredited Professional, and hasthe distinction of being the first LEED accredited attorney with offices in Prince George’sCounty.  Mr. Davey utilizes his knowledgeof green development and construction practices to advocate for his clientsduring contract negotiation and at the site plan approval level. 

            Mr.Davey serves as a Member on the Board of Directors of the region’s leadingbusiness organization, the Greater Washington Board of Trade.  Mr. Davey is highly esteemed by hisprofessional colleagues for his business acumen and experience, and serves as aDirector of the Med-Chi Insurance Agency and Old Line Bank.  Mr. Davey is a member of the Economic Club ofWashington, and is on the Executive Committee of the Federal City Council.  Mr. Davey earned his Masters in PublicAdministration and J.D. degrees from the AmericanUniversity, and is admitted to practicein Maryland and in the U.S. District Court forMaryland.
