Kristina Cruz Skidmore

Experienced Northern Virginia family law attorney Kristina Cruz Skidmore represents family and domestic law clients in FAIRFAX, PRINCE WILLIAM, ARLINGTON, and LOUDOUN Counties and the CITY OF ALEXANDRIA in both Circuit Courts and Juvenile and Domestic Relations Courts. Kristina ensures the best outcome for her clients by combining her legal experience with her client’s individual, personal objectives while keeping her clients informed, as active participants throughout the process. From helping clients to understand, navigate and reconcile issues involving fault-based divorces, child custody, child support, property division, dividing businesses or property transfers to being a zealous and dogged advocate in high-conflict cases, Kristina takes a transparent, conciliatory approach to marital and family dispute resolutions. While out-of-court resolution is always her preferred outcome and initial goal for any client, Kristina advocates with poise, passion and legal acumen in the courtroom when settlement is not possible. She assists Spanish-speaking clients in custody and visitation matters and is a contributing author to the Virginia Divorce and Custody Law blog.

From 2015-2017, Kristina has been selected for inclusion as a Virginia and Washington, D.C. Super Lawyers Rising Star in Family Law. She was also recognized by Virginia Business magazine among its 2015 Legal Elite, a compilation of notable attorneys throughout the state who are under 40. Kristina was named to the 2014 Lawyers of Color’s Second Annual Hot List, which recognizes early- to mid-career minority attorneys working as in-house counsel, government attorneys, and law firm associates and partners. In her free time Kristina provides pro bono legal advice to indigent clients.  She lives in Falls Church with her husband and dog and is active in her church and her neighborhood citizen association.
