Biography
Grace Annette Martinez joined the Law Offices of John Boneta, PLLC as an Associate Attorney in 2026, after nearly two years with the firm as a legal intern. By the time she came on as a practicing attorney, Grace already knew the firm's clients, the local courtrooms, and the Northern Virginia community she serves.
Grace earned her Bachelor of Science in Criminology and Criminal Justice from Arizona State University, graduating summa cum laude as a member of Barrett, The Honors College. She went on to the Antonin Scalia Law School at George Mason University, where she earned her Juris Doctor and developed her courtroom skills, earning the 2026 Trial Advocacy Award from the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association.
She has interned with the Loudoun County Commonwealth's Attorney's Office and the Arizona Attorney General's Office. Having seen how cases are built from the prosecution side, she draws on this perspective to guard her clients' rights at every stage.
Her commitment to fairness in the justice system runs through her scholarship. Her published research in the journal Criminology examines the lives of individuals formerly sentenced to juvenile life without parole, with a focus on resilience and second chances. Grace's research reflects her belief that good people deserve a strong advocate in difficult times.
Grace is an animal lover and cares for two Australian Shepherd dogs, Athena and Bluey. In 2025, Grace rescued Bluey, a deaf dog, from life as a stray.
