Kathleen Hatfield is an attorney and legislative advisor providing policy guidance and strategic analysis to advance the interests of, and acquire public and private funding for, non-profit organizations including private hospitals, public health entities such as Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), and educational organizations. Her focus is on health care legislation, policy initiatives and the acquisition of federal, state and private funding for non-profit hospitals, medical centers, community health centers, health coalitions, educational institutions and affiliated networks. She has extensive legislative and legal experience, having worked for Senators Robert C. Byrd, Edward M. Kennedy, and Henry M. Jackson on complex issues involving federal appropriations, judicial, national security, international trade and health care matters. She has also worked for the Executive Branch in the U.S. Commerce Department; independent agencies, including the U.S. International Trade Comission; and the private sector, including a number of national law firms and the National Association of Manufacturers. She currently works as an advocate in Washington, D.C. representing a number of hospitals and health organizations that are replicating their programs as national demonstration projects supported by the U.S. Congress and federal agencies.
