Joseph Cammarata

Attorney Joseph Cammarata is a board-certified personal injury and civil trial lawyer who has received national recognition for his tenacious representation of his clients during all stages of litigation. He is a graduate of St. John’s University Law School of Law, and also holds a Masters degree in Taxation from the prestigious Georgetown University Law School. He is licensed to practice law in Maryland, Virginia, New York, and Washington, D.C.

 His practice focuses on the areas of brain injury, personal injury, medical malpractice, and wrongful death. It is his goal to fight for the rights of those who suffer discrimination and other abuses of civil rights. He has won numerous high profile cases and has successfully recovered tens of millions of dollars for his clients. In his experience, he has fought against insurance companies, government entities, and even the President of the United States.

 Mr. Cammarata, who is also a certified public accountant, has served as a Chairman of the Criminal Justice Advisory Board and has been involved with the Community Initiative to Reduce Youth Violence, both of which are based in Fairfax, VA. He has also served as a Chairman of the Public Safety Committee of the Visioning Task Force of Mount Vernon, VA, and is a past Chairman of the Red Cross’s largest outdoor fundraising event, the Alexandria Red Cross Waterfront Festival.

 As an intelligent, well-spoken, and highly accomplished public speaker, Mr. Cammarata has appeared many times on national and international cable and network television programs and national radio shows. His words have been widely quoted in national and international newspaper and magazine publications. Additionally, he serves as a contributing author for Beyond a Reasonable Doubt, a book edited by Larry King of CNN.

 Attorney Cammarata once secured a unanimous decision from the U.S. Supreme Court that guaranteed people the right to equal access to justice, especially against powerful and intimidating opponents. In 1989, he was honored with the Outstanding Attorney Award by the U.S. Department of Justice. He also authored legislation designed to safeguard young athletes from known concussion risks in the “Athletic Concussion Protection Act of 2011.”

 Every year since 2007, Attorney Cammarata has been named a Washington, D.C. area “Super Lawyer” by Law & Politics Magazine.

 Washingtonian magazine has consistently named him one of the area’s top lawyers every year since 1997, including:
