I can't thank Mr. Bloch enough-he did a brilliant job

I injured my back in 2015 while working in Afghanistan. The company I was working for released me from the project and sent me home, so I decided to hire a local attorney and file a DBA claim. My case was moving slowly for the first two and a half years. And sometimes, not even moving at all. I was... getting frustrated, but also very suspicious about the lack of communication between my attorney and me. I started looking for other people with DBA cases in my town, hoping to find out what kind of experience they had and get a piece of advice. After talking to some of them, I discovered that my attorney was making a lot of mistakes and was not acting in the best interest of his clients. All of them, without exception, directed me to Mr. Scott J. Bloch. I've contacted Mr. Bloch's associate here in my country and arranged a meeting. I presented my case to him, and he made sure Mr. Bloch's Law Office got all of my medical reports, statements and other documents for a detailed review. Just a couple of weeks later, they told me I have a strong case and that they are accepting to represent me. I signed a contingency agreement with Mr.Bloch in April 2018. After we informed D.O.L. that Mr. Bloch is my new lawyer, my DBA case started picking up the pace. And boy oh boy, how everything started moving forward really fast. When the insurance company found out Mr. Bloch is my new representative, they admitted that the agreement they've made with my first attorney (agreement he never told me about) was not being fair to me, and they wanted to fix it. The opposing counsel wanted to resolve the case, and not deal with this underpayment issue. Now, if that does not tell you anything about Mr. Bloch's reputation, then I don't know what does. In the period of just seven months, Mr.Bloch first demanded adjustments to my claim, and then arranged mediation which led to a renewed offer of settlement and final agreement in November 2018. All I had to do was send him every new report from the doctors I was visiting during this period. That’s why I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Mr.Bloch for the excellent work he did as my attorney. I appreciate his help, determination, courage and hard work, and that he arranged mediation to resolve the matter quickly out of court. I know he has many clients, so his prompt responses and attention to detail really meant much to me. His legal expertise and professionalism of his team went above and beyond my expectations throughout the course of the case. The fact he crossed half the world to meet me and other clients in person and share his valuable time left a deep impression on me. It showed how dedicated he is to his work. I feel so indebted to him for that. Mr.Bloch’s commitment to help those who search for justice, even when it means going against big corporations and insurance companies, shows what a great man he is. I will always be grateful for all of his efforts. I will gladly recommend Law Offices of Scott J. Bloch to anyone in need of a sound lawyer, as I firmly believe he will accomplish everything in his power to win the case. Once again, thank you, Mr.Bloch for everything and I wish you and your outstanding team every success in life. May God bless you and your families. Sincerely, Aleksandar J from Macedonia

The BEST.

It takes a special sorta man to take on DBA cases. It's not something to be taken lightly. The fight. The wait. The disappointments. The nights wondering about your future, how you'll pay your bills, little alone the amount of medical help you need. Scott has been the only consistent, reliable thi...ng in my life since needing a lawyer. He made my fight his own and won. Every phone call. Every letter. Every screw-up the insurance company made. Every melt down, moment of intense despair, HE WAS THERE AND LIFTED ME UP. He never left me feeling I was navigating this horrific experience on my own. I don't think there was a phone call placed or a email sent that he didn't respond the same day. When it came time to refer a fellow contractor for help, he took on the case with the same passion, too. You NEED someone who knows the system and isn't in a huge firm that you'll get lost in the mass of people they represent. Scott will know you and take your outcome personally. Can't recommend him enough. I'm grateful - and blessed - to have found him.

Professional misconduct

This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority in 2015.

Reciprocal - Suspension issued in DC, 2015

updated on 05/02/2018

This means that the attorney's misconduct in another state, or jurisdiction, also violated the rules for practicing law in District of Columbia Bar.

Scott’s comment:

“This was a result of political disagreements when I ran a government agency in the federal government and had enemies investigating me. The discipline was suspension for 30 days, which was then reciprocal with DC. I was reinstated in early 2015. It was based on wiping a government computer with a virus and not on practice of law. It is the only discipline in 31 years.”

Discipline with Actual Suspension issued in CA, 2014

updated on 05/02/2018

This sanction means the attorney lost his or her license to practice law for a period of time. The attorney typically returns to practicing law when the suspension expires.

Scott’s comment:

“This was a result of political disagreements when I ran a government agency in the federal government and had enemies investigating me. Kansas refused to discipline me for wiping a computer that had a virus on it. California imposed discipline of 30 days, which was then reciprocal with DC. I was reinstated in early 2015. It is the only discipline I have had in 31 years of practice of law. I was on the Board of Discipline of Kansas in the 1990s and heard ethics complaints against attorneys.”
