We were about to sign a contract with a law firm for our e2 visa that was stuck in the American Consulate in Istanbul when a friend told us about Mr Haar. Our intention before having met him was to file a mandamus lawsuit but Mr Haar convinced us to chose another way about which he denied to give an...y details before signing the contract. After signing a contract with him and paying 5000 usd, he said he was really good at what he does and that he was going to “shake them” referring to whoever was in charge of our e2 visa still under administrative process after 9 months. He didn’t say anything else about his system. What he did in a period of 30 days was to send the embassy an email asking about our visa after which he received the exact same answer we did when we wrote them. Then Mr Haar contacted a US senator via email asking him to contact the embassy. Which he did, and received the exact same answer from the embassy. If it wasn’t my friend who told me about Paul Haar, I would think this was a scam and that he wasn’t a real lawyer. But unfortunately he is and this is just the most expensive lesson of my life. After “failing” to get a proper answer through the US senator, Mr Haar decided that we could file a Mandamus lawsuit for which he requested another 5000 usd. This means we paid 5000 dollars for him to send an email to a us senator and talk to us for 1-1.5 hours on the phone. He might be ok with this deal but it just isn’t right or fair. When we told him so he compared us to a child who gets mad when they can’t get a cookie. He has very poor communication. He says things like “stop talking” during conversations, thinks this is normal and manages to make you regret each time you need to talk to him. We definetely regret having met him and we hope this review prevents a few people from going through a similar experience.

I was referred to Paul to help file an HB1 Visa for an employee. During the consultation (for which he got the time wrong and did no initial work to figure out if my organization qualified for the type of Visa), he was condescending and rude and said he needed some time to provide an opinion. We resc...heduled so we could meet the following Monday. Again, he got the time wrong for the Monday call and during the 10 minute call promised to review materials sent to him and get back to me. We sent him materials on Tuesday. On Thursday he said he needed $1,000. Not any explanation of what he would be doing for the $1,000, what that included, what the deliverables were, what the timeline was, what his hourly rate was, etc. I told him I needed a detailed invoice for a retainer that I could pay from. He did allow that his hourly rate was $500; even though an initial consultation with him was only $300. I reiterated the next day that I needed more details for payment. He said he would get back to me. He did get back to me and said we weren't eligible for the kind of Visa we were seeking. All of that is well and good. Where Paul acted unprofessionally was not providing details for billing (instead just asking for $1,000 over email, like a gangster) and wasting everyone's time in dealing with a very time sensitive matter. I'm disappointed that he seemed unprepared and that his billing practices seem wildly unethical. His lack of transparency is laughable. Avoid this guy. He's the worst.

I hired that attorney after my ex wife now went to him for my h1b renewal was denied he insure as that he will take care of that and even mention that he has connection inside and he knows the directors personnally and he charge us 10000 dollars and in a desperate situation we did pay him 5000 on the... Spot and 5000 a week later plus immigration fees of course . After 3 weeks my employer received a letter from USCIS with denial of the case we try to call him no answer for several days and I finally got him on the line he told me there is nothing he can do for us I had to leave th e country for one year I lost my family my wife divorced me I came back with my green card but I will never recommend thatlawyer
