I would like to extend my gratitude to Attorney Frank Kearney and his team for the excellent work performed on my behalf. From day one, when I placed my phone call to his office, I knew I was in good hands. I am a Nurse and I sustained a back injury on the job while assisting a patient. My injury ...caused me to suffer from extreme pain with lower extremity weakness. I was out from work for months on workers compensation and I had no intention of retaining an attorney because I was not aware that I should probably consult with one. No one tells you these things, especially when you think you will get better and return to work in a short period of time. That was not the case for me. Several months after being out for my injury I was notified by the workers comp office that the insurance medical examiner (IME) that they sent me to for a follow-up evaluation had concluded that I was no longer injured and could return to work. The IME report said I could resume my full-time duties without further treatment or evaluation. The fact is, I clearly expressed to the IME my condition had not improved and I was not ready to return to work at that time. In shock, I wondered how cold and calculating the decision was to send me back to work still injured and in pain. The more I wondered the more I got upset. My employer wanted me to return work per what the IME concluded. I refused to return to work in my condition and they refused to offer me physical therapy and/or any assistance to help me get better to return to work. I knew I needed help fast. They terminated the workers comp benefits and I would not be paid until I returned to work. At this point all of my funding sources were depleted including my retirement and savings. It was time to find an attorney. Attorney Kearney was recommended to me by another attorney in Maryland. Once I contacted his office to schedule a consultation I was sent a book called “Protecting Your Rights”. After consulting with his team and reading the book I really got the courage I needed to move forward with my case. I could now see a light at the end of the tunnel! Attorney Kearney informed me during our first meeting that I had a 50 percent chance at winning my case due to the fact so many months had gone by after being injured. Again, I wish I had known to consult with an attorney at the beginning when I was first injured, but it is common not to know until something goes awry. I now had the strength to hold on and maintain a positive outlook because Attorney Kearney and his team always communicated with me and kept me informed on the work they were doing with my case.
