I've spent 36 years representing clients before the FCC, federal and state courts. In 2003 I joined with several other DC residents to vindicate our right to keep and bear functional firearms for self-protection. Since that time I have become deeply immersed in federal and state law regulating firearms and self-defense. I became an NRA handgun instructor and was certified by the Maryland State Police to teach concealed carry applicants in Maryland.
In 2008 the United States Supreme Court vindicated our rights in the landmark DC v. Heller case. I then joined with several other DC residents to sue DC for the right to carry a firearm for personal protection. In July of 2014 the Federal District Court enjoined DC's prohibition on carrying firearms for personal protection. That case led to the first issuance of concealed carry licenses in DC since 1976. I was one of the first persons certified by the District of Columbia Police Department to teach concealed carry applicants and have taught approximately one-half of the persons who have been granted carry licenses in the District.
In May of 2015, I joined the law firm of Bergstrom & Taylor to continue to advocate for the rights of gun owners.
