Federal EEO Case

Ms. Friedman promptly responded to my request for an initial consultation on my complaint and provided valuable guidance and insights on the EEO process for federal employees. In addition, her firm's team provided excellent assistance.

IF YOU NEED TO SLAY YOUR GOLIATH.....GET JOANNA!!

Ms. Friedman assisted me on three ocassions and each time her assistance was invaluable. First time I retained Ms. Friedman for an EEO case, she was with Passman and Kaplan. I was stressed to the point that I could barely function. I was a divorced mother of two small children, limited income and th...e livelihood of caring for my children was threatened. Ms. Friedman was no nonsense and straight to the point and that's what I needed in a lawyer. Ms. Friedman walked me through the process and without her expertise, I would have been an emotional "mess". The second time Ms. Friedman assisted me, she was with a new firm. I contacted her at that firm because I was being harrased by a supervisor for filing the first EEO case. Ms. Friedman explained how I should proceed. I followed her expertise advice and it was successful and her consultation fee was reasonable. The third time (yes) third time Ms. Friedman assisted me, it was two individuals harassing me and they, too, were familiar with my previous EEO case..YES, I was and still work for the same agency. Ms. Friedman again told me how to proceed and both individuals apologized and never harrassed me again. I did not feel that her fee was unreasonable but Ms. Friedman will be my first choice when it comes to employment and labor laws. By-the-way, I didn't mention that she made the agency return me to my career status and when they tried to bambozzle thier decision, she called them on the carpet and held thier feet to the fire. My career status was returned and I am forever grateful. Ms. Friedman will most definitely be my first choice and highly recommended. If you need to slay your Goliath, I recommend Ms. Friedman, without reservation!! I hope that Ms. Friedman's passion and drive for the law will remain and I hope my review will encourage someone in need of representation.

Runs up the bill, then dumps

I started my case against my employer with Ms. Friedman and she assured me repeatedly that it was worthwhile and that we would have good results. However, I would have to send her detailed and frequent e-mails to get her to move on the case. After several months, and tens of thousands of dollars late...r, we were not very far into my case, and not even before a judge!!! After it became apparent that I could not afford more than the $60,000 I already gave her to move forward, she dumped me as a client. I was on my own to find another lawyer to sort out the mess. For a few thousand more, another lawyer was able to get me out of the case for 2/3rds the fees that I paid Friedman and her cohorts at Tully Rinkey, and I have a net loss of $25,000. Had Ms. Friedman been up front with me that my case was not very strong, I would not have proceeded and I would be FAR better off.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
