Reid D Henderson

Reid Henderson has several complaints against him currently pending with the DC Bar. My complaint is one of them. He is a complete and utter failure as an attorney and will most likely be debarred soon. I retained him in late 2012 for a debt collection matter. Our contact was sporadic while he wo...rked with the opposing attorney to negotiate an amicable settlement. In May 2014, to my total surprise, my employer was served with a writ of wage garnishment. I soon learned that the opposing counsel had obtained summary judgment against me. Reid Henderson had never informed me of this judgment. In fact, he didn't even discover it until after I had notified him. He essentially told me that he had "dropped the ball." His response after his huge mistake of completing forgetting about me and my case only made matters worse. I wanted to try to resolve this situation and attempted to get him to work with me. He would act as if he was making efforts to help only to disappear completely and ignore all of my attempts to contact him. After filing my complaint against him with the DC Bar, he has been very uncooperative when they had attempted to contact him. It took him several months to provide the DC Bar my client records. My new attorney has also reached out to him for information, but Henderson has been unresponsive. This has severely impeded my case. Henderson also told the bar that he would work with them in providing me restitution, but that has not happened. I have not even been refunded the retainer I paid to him. The past year and a half of my life has been awful because of Reid Henderson's horrendous lack of professionalism. Please heed my warning and do not retain him as your attorney. He is incapable of even the most basic level of client service.
