Jordan D. Howlette established JD Howlette Law following a five-year career as a trial attorney in the Tax Division of the United States Department of Justice (DOJ). He is intimately familiar with the procedures, strategies, and processes of litigating under the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and with resolving multi-faceted disputes involving high-dollar amounts, intricate statutory and regulatory provisions, and diverse parties from different jurisdictions.

Mr. Howlette graduated cum laude from New England Law | Boston in 2016 and he is a proud veteran of the United States Army. In 2019, Mr. Howlette obtained a Master's in Business Administration from American University's Kogod School of Business and subsequently established MyTaxRights—a tax information company dedicated to educating individuals about their federal tax rights and responsibilities. In December 2020, Mr. Howlette co-founded the Center for Advancement of Tax Equity, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that promotes tax education and outreach initiatives to improve the quality of life and economic conditions for individuals from underserved communities.

Excellent Attorney and Very Client Friendly

Jordan is a very good attorney. Very knowledgeable of the laws and know when to apply them. I found it very easy and enjoyable to work with Jordan. I unfortunately found myself having to proceed with my case as a pro se litigant. Jordan came in on a limited representation to help me proceed to the finish line. I advise anyone to get an attorney and I did, but that representation was horrible to the point I had to terminate the attorney's service. Jordan is the attorney you would want to represent you.

Attentive, respectful, professional

Jordan went above and beyond what could be expected of an attorney for a civil litigation matter. Consulted for Lease Issue

We had reached out to Jordan Howlette's legal services due to the need to break our apartment rental lease. Our apartment suffered water damage due to a water main break in the complex and our landlord requested us to keep our lease and live in a hotel for up to 2 months while they waited for the contractors to restore our apartment. Jordan Howlette was able to use his keen knowledge of contract law to help us draft a letter to our landlord requesting to end our lease. The letter worked and the landlord granted us the right to leave our lease without penalty. Without Jordan Howlette's consultation, we would likely still be living in a hotel and battling with our landlord. We cannot thank him enough for his help!

Car accident

I was disappointed with my lawyer from a car accident I was involved in that happen on January 1 2017. My lawyer came up with excuses every time we talked to settle case( it usually takes about 2or3 years to settle). Contacted Jordan Howlette and got paperwork from my case and after 5 years finally settled my case. Jordan Howlette listens and will fight for you.

IRS Tax penaties

Our company ended up in trouble with the IRS for failure to submit a required tax report for our pension fund. The IRS penalty was $84,000, which would have eliminated us as an on-going corporation. Thanks to Mr. Howlette, he was able to draft correspondence which resulted in the IRS in forgiving the penalty. Thanks so much to you, Mr. Howlette.
