Cate did an exceptional job representing me and my wife in a tenant petition against a DC landlord. Ms. Denny went toe to toe with the lawyer of the national luxury housing corporation of which I was a tenant of after my roommate (who was on probation for attacking someone and whom physically attacked my close friend numerous times) had threatened physical violence against me on recording. Under DC... Code § 42–3505.07, the leasing office is required by law to release tenants who reside with someone who has harmed or threaten to harm them--however the lawyers at the leasing office would not recognize me under the law when I went about it on my own. After Ms. Denny got involved, the dispute was settled out of court within a couple short weeks (which had previously been going on for months) and I was eventually released from my lease at zero expense to me. I certainly would not have achieved that outcome without the help of Ms. Denny.
