Julie Yeager, Esquire provides skilled and knowledgeable counsel to clients in all types of civil family law cases. She is a tough litigator with thousands of hours of experience inside the courtroom.
Julie is also a certified arbitrator and trained mediator in divorce and child custody cases. She completed the DSBA Family Law Arbitration training and 40-hour Divorce Mediation Course offered by Mediation Matters. Parties can voluntarily choose alternative dispute resolution with Julie as their arbitrator or mediator. Through alternative dispute resolution, Julie can help parties address the issues they need to to resolve in order to separate and/or divorce, including support, custody/visitation, and property division, without court involvement.
Julie has practiced family law for more than a decade and earned several distinctions within her field. In 2005 and 2007, she served as a judicial law clerk to the New Castle County Family Court and Kent County Family Court, respectively. In 2009, she was selected to represent parents with children in foster care, as well as cases involving potential termination of parental rights. In 2015, Julie was individually selected from the ten State-wide parent attorneys to join the Court Improvement Project Steering Committee, which works to ensure that children in foster care are safe, healthy and experience permanency. In 2017, Mrs. Yeager volunteered to spearhead a Parent Engagement Project, which incorporates new tools to encourage parent engagement with the reunification process.
Julie earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Villanova University, graduating cum laude from the Honors Program in 2002. She was awarded her Juris Doctor from Temple Law School in 2005 and is admitted to practice law in Delaware, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The Yeager Law Firm, LLC was established in 2011.
Julie is an active member of the Delaware law community. She is the Chair of the Family Law Section of the Delaware State Bar Association and was elected to serve as the Vice Chair in 2016 and Secretary in 2015. She has been an active Member at Large on the Executive Committee of Melson-Arsht Inn of Court since 2015. Julie has lectured at Continuing Legal Education seminars on various topics, such as Best Practices in School Choice Custody Cases and Leading Practices in Dependency/Neglect Proceedings. She is the leading contributor for the firm's Blog.
Since 2014, Julie has volunteered as a co-Chair on the planning committee for the Combined Campaign Cup, an annual golf and tennis charitable tournament that raises necessary funds for Delaware's three legal services organizations: Community Legal Aid Society, Inc., Delaware Volunteer Legal Services, Inc., and Legal Services Corporation of Delaware, Inc.
