Lisa Schwind currently serves as Statewide Unit Head of the Forensic Services and Education Unit as well as Director of the Innocence Project for the State of Delaware, Office of the Public Defender. She has also served 9 years with Widener University School of Law, Legal Education Institute as adjunct faculty, where she teaches courses in both forensics, and issues of criminal law.
Lisa is a 1983 graduate of the University of Delaware, College of Nursing, received her Juris Doctorate from Widener University School of Law in 1989 and received her Masters Degree in Nursing from WesleyCollege in 2010.
In the last 24 years, Lisa has practiced all aspects of criminal defense including death penalty work. Her practice currently is concentrated exclusively on criminal cases which include forensic or medical issues. In the areas of forensics, forensic nursing, criminal law, and health care she has lectured nationally as well as in Canada, published, and serves on a variety of committees including the National Technical Working Group on Biological Evidence Preservation.
