JURY SAYS "NOT GUILTY" TO TRUCK DRIVER CHARGED IN BEATING DEATH OF MAN
Nov 21, 2003
OUTCOME: Not Guilty of Murder on All Counts
After nine hours of deliberations, a truck driver was found not guilty of the charge of murder in the beating death of a man. The trucker was charged with murder after he was involved in an altercatio...n with a man, ultimately beating him to death with a tire iron. William Daley successfully defended the driver, convincing the jury that the beating was in self defense. The beating took place after words were exchanged between the trucker and a man who had approached the trucker's wife. Attorney Daley persuaded the jury with the argument that the driver had no choice but to defend himself when he was attacked by the man with a knife.

JURY AWARDS $459,130.33 TO FAMILY OF MENTAL HEALTH PATIENT FOR MEDICAL MALPRACTICE
Jan 07, 2002
OUTCOME: $459,130.33 Awarded to William Daley's Client where offer was $0.
A jury awarded $459,130.33 to the family of a 12-year mental health hospital patient. In receiving his most recent jury verdict William Daley convinced the jury that 33-year-old Willie Hill, Jr. shou...ld not have been given a grounds pass by his doctors at Madden Mental Health facility, due to Mr. Hill's longstanding mental health problem. After receiving the pass, Mr. Hill, who had been at Madden for three years, left the hospital grounds and ingested a lethal amount of alcohol. He was found dead by the police. Before trial the hospital had offered only $20,000 to settle the case. Attorney Daley represented Hill's family in this medical malpractice case.
