Francesco Mangiaracina

Some cases look unwinnable until the right lawyer does the work. Frank Mangiaracina, one of the firm's founding partners, has built his career on those cases: the ones with contested medicine, multiple defendants, and a hospital or corporation on the other side that would rather fight than pay. He is a trial lawyer first, and he prepares every case he takes to go through verdict. As lead or co-counsel, Frank has recovered nearly $200 million for injured people and their families, including a confidential settlement in the high eight figures, a $44 million product liability settlement, and numerous eight-figure and seven-figure medical malpractice recoveries.

Frank concentrates on medical malpractice and other high-stakes, highly complex catastrophic injury cases, including trucking crashes, defective products, toxic exposures, sexual abuse, premises liability, and motor vehicle collisions. His edge is in the courtroom. He thinks quickly on his feet, anticipates where the defense is headed, and gets there first, adjusting in real time as the witnesses and evidence come in.

The Domino's case shows what that looks like. In 2016, a Domino's franchise's delivery driver crashed into a motorcyclist, who endured ten surgeries and nearly lost his leg. Domino's corporate insisted that it, as a franchisor, can never be responsible for its franchisee's driver. Frank took the case to trial, and in 2021 a Philadelphia jury returned a $2.1 million verdict against Domino's corporate. A three-judge panel of the Pennsylvania Superior Court later reversed, and the verdict appeared to be gone. Then the full court agreed to rehear the case and, in a precedential 2025 opinion, reinstated the verdict by a vote of 8 to 1. The decision changed the law of franchisor liability in Pennsylvania.

Before founding Cavaliere & Mangiaracina, Frank spent a decade representing catastrophically injured people at the region's leading plaintiffs' firms. Most recently, he was a partner at Kline & Specter, where he tried multiple cases to verdict, including a five-week toxic tort trial, and resolved many more on the eve of trial or in the middle of jury selection. Before that, he spent five years at Sheridan & Murray, another catastrophic injury firm. He began his career in class action litigation and left within a year once it was clear the work would rarely put him in front of a jury.

Super Lawyers has named Frank a Pennsylvania Rising Star every year since 2019, and the National Trial Lawyers has named him to its Top 40 Under 40.

Frank earned his law degree magna cum laude from the Temple University Beasley School of Law, graduating in the top five percent of his class. He was the only student in his class to serve on both the National Trial Team and the Temple Law Review, and he won multiple trial advocacy awards. He earned his undergraduate degree from Lehigh University and is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

When he is not in a courtroom, Frank is at the beach with his wife, daughter, son, and their dog, Tony, or watching the Eagles and the Sixers.
