Can I94 "Valid from" date be changed?Received I94 with validity from Oct2015 when the I539 was pending with USCIS since Dec2014.

Do not worry. You do not have a gap because your application was pending during that time.

You will need a marriage license and whatever else the state in which you live requires you to present.

Well you can try to sue. However, you need a new passport and should focus on that.

You are not out of status because you filed the request for an extension before your H-1B status expired.

What is next - Go apply for your social security card and a driver license. In due order you will adjust status to become a permanent resident.

You will have to check the visa bulletin that comes out mid month every month for availability of visas.
