Dan brings, 28 years of military experience with 18 of those years serving as an active duty Judge Advocate for the U.S. Army. As such, Dan brings a wealth of experience and expertise in both military justice and personnel law and has advised clients and commands on a variety of topics. Dan, a recently retired Army Judge Advocate, provided critical advice in the areas of criminal law, personnel law, administrative matters, labor and employment law, ethics, and FOIA/Privacy Act. Dan’s diverse legal background includes working as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney at West Point, New York, and Fort Carson, Colorado, and as an Assistant States Attorney in Grand Forks, North Dakota. He also served extensively as a Trial Defense Counsel and Senior Defense Counsel. During his last assignment as the Senior Legal Instructor at the US Army Military Police School, Dan developed a topical “Constitutional Use of Force” class that was utilized Army-wide to train military police and security guards.
Dan had the honor of serving overseas in South Korea, Kuwait, Germany, Iraq, and a short stint in Ghana, Africa. Among his assignments, he is most proud of serving in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 8th, and 34th Infantry Divisions. For his service, Dan was awarded the Bronze Star and multiple Meritorious Service Medals, and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel.
