Joan Mary Graner

We knew nothing when our parents died within 5 months of each other. My friend recommended Joan because she had helped her family. I am so pleased she did. Her fee was a percentage of the estate or an hourly rate. The choice was mine. As executor and not a resident of PA I had no idea what to file or... what to advertise. I could do as much or as little as I wanted Joan would fill in the gaps. I could handle the bookkeeping but not how it got together for the estate. Joan consulted with an accountant which we could hire or not. My parents never shared ANY of their finances with us. What I thought was a simple estate turned into to a mystery tour thru the unknown and soon discovered sources, this included a broker, no estate planning, at least 5 banks , a real mess. Joan guided me thru everything and took the reins when needed. I am so glad she was there and she has become a friend. Now getting her to send us a bill was another story. I still don't think she charged us enough for the lawyer stuff and the medation between the siblings and spouses. The assets have been sold and equally distributed, so we are done soon. Parents in urned together in Arlington National. Tax returns filed for State and Federal,we hired her accountant and were very pleased the estate even paid for the beneficiaries tax obligations to be prepared. I am very pleased with everything . I will soon be moving back to PA and will be doing some legal work with Joan and our accountant Steve.
