Ms. Allen focuses exclusively on immigration and nationality law. Her experience includes all types of employment and family-based immigration cases for business clients and individuals. Prior to opening her immigration law practice ten years ago, Ms. Allen worked for the largest corporate immigration firm in the world, where she handled all the immigration needs of the firm’s largest client, a Big Four Accounting Firm.
Ms. Allen advises clients as to developing immigration policies in areas such as I-9 employment eligibility verification, avoiding national origin discrimination, and hiring and terminating foreign nationals. She presents in-house seminars on basic immigration for the general counsel and human relations departments of a multinational corporations as well as labor and employment attorneys. Ms. Allen’s areas of expertise include corporations servicing information technology consulting, accounting and taxation, and hi-tech industries.
Ms. Allen provides representation for all types of non-immigrant and immigrant visas for corporate and individual clients. She has represented clients in all types of family-based and employment-based petitions before the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services and U.S. Consulates across the globe. She also has extensive experience in appellate filings. She also has represented successfully hundreds of clients before the Executive Office for Immigration Review in bond hearings and removal proceedings.
Ms. Allen is extremely active in pro bono efforts. She assisted in founding and managing a monthly pro bono immigration clinic in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania at the Irish Immigration Center, which has assisted hundreds of immigrants in need of free legal assistance. She also handles pro bono all immigration matters for clients from the Legal Clinic for the Disabled’s PhilaKIDS (LCD), a Medical-Legal Partnership (MLP) with St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. She also trains LCD staff and healthcare partners on immigration issues that impact the families LCD serves, including presenting to the medical residents, social workers, and physicians at St. Christopher’s Hospital. Ms. Allen guests lectures on immigration at Temple University Beasley School of Law for students enrolled in the Medical Legal Clinic.
Ms. Allen graduated with a B.A. in Spanish and Communications from Wake Forest University and a J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law- Camden. Ms. Allen served as a law clerk to the Honorable Francine I. Axelrad, Appellate Division, Superior Court of New Jersey and to Justice Van der Westhuizen, Constitutional Court of South Africa, the nation’s highest court.
