Gary Sanford Server is quite possible the worst lawyer in Pennsylvania.

Gary Server was the worst of my 3 bad lawyers and was instrumental in me losing my career and reputation. In spite of weekly phone calls over the course of two years, he never once accepted a single call and to this day I have never spoken with the man. Never. If his client is in prison, he will n...ot speak with him, period. He refused to read my version of events, calling it a "manifesto" because, I suppose, it was over five pages long, and stating in a letter that I have, "I'm not going to read that!" After he lost the first appeal, which he could not possibly have won because his brief agreed at every point with the DA's analysis (as I said, he never knew my version of events and refused to learn it) I gave him express instructions NOT to re-appeal (I wanted a new lawyer), but going against every code of ethics and every law on the subject of this part of an appeal, he most criminally did it anyway, and with essentially the same losing brief, he destroyed my final chance at getting out from under my entirely erroneous charges. He never once mentioned, although it was in the transcript, that there was absolutely no physical evidence because not only was there no chain of evidence, there was no actual evidence that the prosecution could produce - none at all. Yet my conviction was based entirely on this non-existent evidence. Server apparently failed to read the transcript thoroughly enough to notice this egregious miscarriage of what passes for justice in Philadelphia. After his second appeal inevitably failed (once again, it could not possibly have won and I'm certain he was aware of that fact) after having asked three times in writing and at least a dozen times via telephone message for my transcript back (I suspect also that he does not listen to his phone messages from his clients), which transcript, as long as the appeal process went on, he refused to send me a copy of, he simply never sent and has since not sent. That was about three years ago now.

Great criminal lawyer

This guy is arrogant because he is good at what he does my fiancé was facing the death penalty for homicide and he got him off with ten years I think that's a good deal considering what he did and what he was facing I owe our lives to him hands down he's the best

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
