Alan E. Casnoff

Alan E. Casnoff focuses his practice in the commercial area, having broad experience in business structuring, financing, taxation, work-outs and real estate transaction.

Alan began his career at Saul Ewing, following a clerkship with Judge Edmund Spaeth Jr., becoming one of its youngest partners. While there, he led the real estate partnership and syndication areas. He also represented a diverse group of public and private firms involved in the real estate, retail and sporting goods industries. When a long time publicly traded client had financial difficulties, Alan was asked to take the helm of the company. Over a six-year period, he negotiated the settlement of shareholder suits, partnership class actions and lender issues, bringing the company back to profitability.

Alan’s passion is to work on complex issues in which he can utilize his legal and practical business experience to efficiently resolve issues. In addition to his continued practice, Alan has also developed a substantial real estate firm, which has developed millions of square feet in office and residential space, including three new high-rise construction projects.

Alan has been very active in the larger community having served as the President of the Jewish Federation of Philadelphia, Campaign Chair of the Allied Jewish Appeal Campaign, Chairman of the Wordsworth Academy, Chairman of Philabundance and a member of the advisory board of the Kimmel Cancer Center. He is currently Development Chairman of Philabundance and Chariman of the Board of Child World America.
