Tariq Karim El-Shabazz

Managing and founding partner Tariq Karim El-Shabazz has practiced complex civil and criminal litigation in both Federal and State Court for more than 20 years. Also referred to by Philadelphia Newspapers and his peers as the “Philadelphia Johnnie Cochran”, Mr. El-Shabazz was featured as one of Pennsylvania’s Super Lawyers.

His successful defense of major political figures, and both white and blue collar clients, from Boston to Virginia, has earned him the respect of his peers as well as, a formidable reputation as one of the most successful litigators of his era.

As a result of his extraordinary litigation and prolific oratory skills, both perfected by over 1,000 jury trials, Mr. El-Shabazz is a highly sought legal analyst with numerous appearances on ABC, CBS and FOX News, Comcast Network’s “Its Your Call" with Lynn Doyle, and Court TV’s nationally syndicated shows; “Jamie Floyd: Best Defense”, “Bloom & Politan: Open Court” and “Nancy Grace: Closing Argument”. Additionally, he is the co-host of “The Pulse with Tariq and Marla”, a live, weekly radio show broadcasted on WURD, 900 AM, and is currently in negotiations with Turner Broadcasting for the debut “Know Your Rights”, his own legal talk show.

Prior to engaging in private practice, Mr. El-Shabazz served as a Philadelphia Assistant District Attorney for five years where he was the recipient of the Prosecutorial Merit Award. A graduate of Hofstra University and the University of Baltimore Law Center, he is also a former associate of Weber, Goldstein, Greenberg and Gallagher.
