Mr. Silver received his Bachelor's Degree in journalism with honors from the Northwestern University Medill School of Journalism in 2008. He earned his Juris Doctor from the James E. Beasley School of Law at Temple University in 2013.

Prior to law school, Mr. Silver spent two years as a multimedia sports journalist for the Las Vegas Sun, covering everything from the World Series of Poker to the PGA Tour. He also served as the road radio broadcaster for the ECHL's Las Vegas Wranglers. Mr. Silver's reporting has been featured in dozens of national publications including the Washington Times, South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Sporting News Magazine, Men's Health, Yahoo Sports, Cleveland Plain Dealer, and the Tennessean.

While in law school, Mr. Silver was president of the Jewish Law Students Association and a member of Temple Law Review. He was a summer law clerk to the Hon. Idee C. Fox in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas and interned at the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office and the ECHL "AA" Hockey League's Commisioner's Office. He also won the 2012 International Association of Gaming Advisors' Shannon Bybee Scholarship for his comment, "The Curious Case of Convenience Casinos: How Internet sweepstakes cafes survive in a gray area between unlawful gambling and legitimate business promotions," which was published in the John Marshall Journal of Computer & Information Law (29 J.MARSHALL J. COMPUTER & INFO. L. 593).

In addition to his classroom accolades, in 2010 Mr. Silver founded , a website devoted to the issues and practice of sports law, which receives more than 4,000 monthly visitors. He writes regular sports law articles for Deadspin and Above the Law Redline. 

Mr. Silver is currently a member of the Brandeis Society's Young Lawyer's Executive Committee and serves as treasurer of the Northwestern Universiy Alumni Club of Philadelphia.
