I will be on probation soon (probably for 6 months). Is it true that I cannot hang out with anyone else on probation.

Usually a person on probation is prohibited from associating with convicted felons but not other probationers unless specially prohibitd by the court.

A conditional discharge should not affect your license. It is meant to allow you to have the case dismissed.
