Joelle Taylor Shanesy

Joelle T. Shanesy, Esquire, is the founder and lead attorney of Shanesy Law, where she specializes in family law and estate planning. She represents clients in divorce, custody, child and spousal support, alimony, adoption, and protection from abuse. Joelle also assists with estate planning, including drafting wills, trusts, and powers of attorney. In 2022, she was named one of the Top 10 Under 40 by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys for her outstanding work in family law.

Joelle earned her Juris Doctorate from Duquesne University School of Law, graduating at the top of her class, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, summa cum laude, from West Virginia University, with a minor in Political Science. Before founding Shanesy Law, she gained valuable experience at a busy Philadelphia firm and a large regional law firm, focusing on family law and estate planning. She also served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Judith Olson of the Pennsylvania Superior Court. Joelle is an active member of the Philadelphia Bar Association, the Nicholas Cipriani American Inn of Court, and other professional organizations. She has been recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star from 2021 to 2025.
