Great question. However, the only ones who can contest the stop and search would be your friends. They have standing you do not.

If it is just one pay you can try suing in small claims court but if they are really in bankrupcty you will have to file a claim if if is still open.

Yes you would need to file a partition action and it should be done by an attorney
