Have you verified they didn't send the release back. Normally no release no check. That's then end of it though. The lawyer and client have moved on.

If he doesn't have a a new case then technical violation is for other things like failing a drug test, missing a meeting etc.

If there a contract? Are you a union worker? If either answer is yes then you may have redress otherwise no.

Does closed mean you signed a release? If not you have a claim if its within 2 years.
