I had the pleasure of interacting with Attorney Freddy Godoy, as I work through a very delicate, complicated, and time sensitive abuse and custody matter. I was particularly impressed by Mr. Godoy's work ethic, his dedication to helping me, and his overall professionalism. He made himself accessible ...at all hours and utilized all channels of communication (voice call, text message, and email) to ensure that my questions/concerns were addressed. His wealth of knowledge and expertise in the field of family law was evident in the guidance he offered and instructions he provided to my family and me. He was also impressively familiar with the various judges, the necessary course of action, and expectations given the nature of the case. Freddy provided document overview and suggestions on how to approach the temporary PFA and following custody case. He meticulously detailed the steps that would have to happen to ensure a potential successful outcome. He did all of this before asking for a penny. Every other attorney that I consulted with requested a fee upfront before they heard the situation. Unfortunately, I could not continue this relationship with Mr. Godoy because the family had a family friend that they wanted to use. This was the most in depth and detailed consultation I have ever received. He is truly doing this to help families in need; giving a voice where it has been muted. The day that I called Mr. Godoy was the worst day of my life. I was told by my previous attorney that I would lose my three-week-old, still breastfed daughter because of my immigration status, and there is no way I could get medical support from my daughter’s father when I just paid out of pocket for... my delivery fee. Mr. Godoy was really nice on the phone, he calmed me down, listened to my story, told me everything’s gonna be alright. He took over all my cases when I thought I would lose my daughter. He turned the whole situation around. My ex husband and his attorney tried everything they could to give us hard times and made a huge mess of everything. My ex tried to deny paternity, even directed his parents to harass/threat my parents in our home country in order to get what he wanted. Mr. Godoy was on my side the whole time, fought all my cases(Child Custody, Child Support and Divorce) with dignity. As an alien and new mom, being in Philadelphia with no support system, I still managed to study and pass all the exams thanks to him.
