EXPUNGED!

I originally went through attorney J. Micheal McCommick for my gun rights problem. Mr. McCormick started the filing of my case for me, but he is in the Pittsburgh area and l was in the Philadelphia area. He used his resources in having local people do the filing. One of his resources was Attn. Michea...l (Mike) Giaramita. Mike went to court with me and I can honestly say I was glad he was by my side. He destroyed the State at every argument. This resulted in getting my rights back on all 3 arguments. I truly believe that I had the best man to represent me. The only thing that I was taken back by was Mr. McCormick's seeming coldness when I was hit with an additional fee. The Judge had ordered both sides to submit a brief of the case. I did not realize how much that was going to affect me. I originally paid $3,500 up front to Mr. McCormick. When I received a bill for an additional $2,500 I was shocked. I spoke to Mr. McCormick and he told me it was for writing the brief. I told him I'm struggling to keep my bills paid and don't have that kind of money to pay. He told me that it's in the contract and to " Pay me my money ". I had to open up another credit card account to pay this fee. It may have been in the contract to begin with, but it had been quite some time that had passed and I couldn't even locate it. It would have been nice to have a little compassion shown to me and make a payment plan to help me out, but I guess other people won't pay their bills and we all suffer for that.

Superior Defense- Highly Recommended

A year ago, I was faced with a situation that I had never dreamed. I was arrested for a crime I believed I was innocent of. While attempting to advocate for my son’s unjust arrest, I found myself being placed under arrest for assaulting officers and disturbing the peace. There were 4 total officers t...hat evening, and I doubted I would be able to argue my side of the circumstances. I spent almost 20 hours in jail that night without a clue of what to do! Via a mutual friend, I was interduce to Michael Antonio Giaramita Jr. Above anything, I remember Mike making me feel safe. He listened to and reviewed every aspect of situation. He asked me in my first introduction, “How do you want me to help, and what do you want the outcome to be?”. My response was easy, “I don’t want to go back to jail!”. Mike agreed to assist with my case and provided me with several options on how we should proceed. Ultimately, within 3 months, I was placed on the “ARD” program for 1 year. This will allow my case to be easily expunged, and without a guilty plea. Another 3 months passed, when yet I had to confront another situation. While shopping at a local department store, I was stopped leaving with unpaid items remaining in my cart. This was an error on my part; however, no intent of theft was involved. The store employees even agreed there was no harm intended, but store security requires charges be filled. Once again, feeling like a criminal, I relied on Mike’s services. This time he was able to quickly resolve with a simple discussion with the arresting officer and store/security representative. I was given a citation for disorderly conduct (similar to a traffic ticket). The ARD program and disorderly citation, to some, may seem to show not much innocence; however, I can assure anyone that these were the best possible outcomes. I am in my 40’s and have never been in any legal situation where a defense attorney was needed. I will still have no criminal record, once expunged, and can say “I’m not guilty!”. Mike is thorough, strong, honest, and mostly caring. He walked me through step by step, allowing me to understand all my options. He also let me make the final choices on how to proceed with both cases. Mike believed in me, and I in return believed in him. I whole-heartedly would recommend Mike’s services to anyone in need of assistance Thank you Mike! Melissa

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
