Chris is a fantastic defense attorney! Thoughtful, creative, great client service, and delivers on promises. I don't intend ever needing a defense attorney again, but I would hire Chris again in a heartbeat. I was facing a first-time offense: a retail theft case. It was an M2 misdemeanor, wher...e I faced potential consequences of up to 2 years in prison and a $5K fine. Not to mention the accompanying embarrassment, humiliation, and albatross of having a criminal record. I had seen first-hand through a family member's situation just how bad things can go; how completely and permanently this could derail a career, a reputation, a life. Especially if a case goes to trial. Needless to say, I was extremely anxious. It hung over me like an anvil. From the very start, Chris put me at ease with his empathetic, caring approach and his communication style. I chose Chris over a few other attorneys I spoke to, in part, based on those factors, which I found important. I knew I would need an attorney that I felt truly cared, didn't shame, and was really in my corner. But equally or more important, he immediately began describing an approach that no other prospective attorney thought of or at least mentioned. Other attorneys talked about attempting to get me into an ARD program. Some were hopeful to avoid fines and jail and possibly a trial. But Chris was confident he could negotiate an even better outcome that not only avoided trial, but avoid fines, jail, an ARD program ... AND have the case thrown out. This was much more aggressive and creative, and I felt he would be a better advocate than the other attorneys I spoke to. AND CHRIS DELIVERED AS PROMISED! Another important thing was value. Chris, based on initial proposed cost estimates (retainers), was definitely not the cheapest option. However, he wasn't playing “hide the ball” and he ultimately saved me the most money. After doing some research, I came to realize getting into an ARD program in MontCo would have required getting approval at a higher level court - Common Pleas. Therefore, any attorney arguing for me to be admitted into an ARD program was going to require a new, additional retainer. Chris pointed that out right away. But his negotiation plan and his execution of that plan avoided the ARD program, and also avoided all the other consequences: trial, court appearances (other than preliminary hearing), jail fines, and other fees. This ultimately saved a lot of money beyond the initial retainer. All these things matter when selecting an attorney, Choose wisely. Choose Chris.

Chris was outstanding I did have to travel 7 hours on my motorcycle but the results where the best outcome possible the case was dismissed and he didn't even want the rest of the agreed payment because it was one appearance and done I have never been happier with a legal representative in all my life... thank you very much Mr Hemmel

This is now the second time using Christopher Hemmel. The first was involving a DUI were he was able to negotiate probation. The second time was for a terroristic threat charge. Chris was able to have one charge dropped and another that could have resulted in 5 years in jail plead down to 4 months... with 3 of those 4 months being on work release. I would recommend his services!

This review is a little overdue, but given our busy lives, I need to write it now respectfully. Christopher Hemmel is extraordinary! I cannot say enough great things about him. I was/am (and will only be) a first-time DUI offender. I do not live in PA, and he handled my case without me having to spe...nd money to travel back there. He quickly got my case lessened to the ARD program and less probation, and it will be stricken from my record once it is completed in a few months.
