Chris Slays the Dragon. Lies, Revenge, Corruption and Chris overcame it all with the truth!

On December 27, 2016, I was arrested in my home state of Tennessee, charged with four felonies and four misdemeanors, placed in solitary confinement. After 15 days, I was extradited to Delaware County, Pennsylvania. Then I met Christopher Hemmel who obtained my release within 18 hours of my arriving... in Delaware County. Without a doubt, I could tell that Chris wanted to sincerely know me as a person, and not by the charges that were listed on the piece of paper sitting on his desk. He took the time to review every charge and accusation and explain to me what it meant legally. He listened to my concerns and feelings about how these charges were not true, but merely a false and miserable attempt from my failed marriage to destroy me as a person. After our initial meeting, he began diligently putting together our defense to prove my innocence. During this painstaking time, Chris kept open lines of communication with friends and family that wanted to help prove these accusations as deceitful and untrue. Chris openly explained the possible outcomes and kept a realistic expectation of what could happen. Chris took the time to research, talk with anyone I asked him to, and read other similar case files to ensure my case was resolved fairly. He filed multiple motions with the court and successfully litigated the complete dismissal of all the felony charges. Moving forward, we continued the fight to dismiss the four misdemeanor charges. When the Commonwealth refused to dismiss the remaining charges, the case went to a full jury trial at my request. At trial, Chris brought my story to life. He filled the room with the same feeling of despair that I first felt as I was arrested. He made the jurors feel the sense of shock as I did when I was placed under arrest with no explanation as to why. He empathized how the original accusations were over 20 years old. Chris ensured I understood everything. To say he prepared me to stand trial would be an understatement. Chris thoroughly prepared me for every possible scenario. He kept a notepad that we used to communication with each other privately during the trial. His cross examinations of the Commonwealth were decisive. When Detective DeLuise took the stand, Chris destroyed his testimony and credibility. Chris just flat out shredded him. Chris forced him to state the required steps of a proper investigation. Then Chris made the detective admit that he had ignored all the required steps. I will forever be grateful to Chris and the way he effortlessly dismantled the DAs case and the Commonwealths lies against me. He was able to achieve (what seemed like) the impossible. He did this by proving I did not do what I was accused of. Chriss attitude and confidence did not waver once during this stressful time. But the prosecutions case deteriorated and fell apart under his cross-examination. My family and I were thankful to have Chris leading this fight for my freedom. At trial, Chris kept an upbeat and sunny disposition. Even when I felt like I couldnt fight anymore, Chris carried the weight of my sorrows and my desperation to prove my innocence. When I sat at the defendants table, knowing my family was sitting behind me listening and watching, feeling very isolated and alone, Chris always had words of encouragement. Having him at my side holding his bottle of Smart Water with a smile telling me hes ready to fight for the outcome I deserved. I cannot express enough gratitude for all the hard work, time, patience, diligence, honesty, communication, empathy and caring for my case and for me as a person. If you ever find yourself in a situation where you need someone who will fight for your innocence, who will listen to you and provide you with the support and the knowledge you need, give Chris Hemmel a call.

John, thank you so much for your very kind words. To date, your case was the single most important case of my entire career. When you first came to me, it looked like a case of “he said / she said”, with each side having a different point of view. But, as more facts were revealed, it became plain to see that “she” was a liar and that you were telling the truth. Each time you and I discussed the facts of your case, your story was always honest and consistent. I knew you were innocent. This case began in 2016 and did not conclude until the end of 2022. During that very long time, nearly six years, it was always a pleasure to have you as my client, and to work with you toward a dismissal of the charges. It was, indeed, a long and difficult road. But, together, we were able to walk that road, one step at a time, until we achieved victory. I will always appreciate and be grateful for the confidence that you have placed in me, by allowing me to be your attorney and handle this very serious and difficult legal matter. Now, after nearly six years, your case is completed, and I wish you and your family all the best for a happy, relaxing and care-free life. Respectfully, Christopher A. Hemmel, Esq.
