Brenda Hustis Gotanda

Brenda Hustis Gotanda is a Partner with Manko, Gold, Katcher & Fox LLP, an environmental and energy law firm. She leads the firm’s Sustainability practice and provides strategic guidance to clients seeking to reduce risk and enhance value through environmental management and sustainability. Ms. Gotanda has over 20 years of experience representing clients in environmental, health and safety regulatory compliance, permitting, transactional, and enforcement matters.

Ms. Gotanda represents clients in a diverse range of industries. Her clients have included, among others, industrial manufacturers, chemical processors, oil refiners, REITs, construction managers, power producers, railroads, retail chains, waste and recycling companies, academic institutions, camps, municipalities, and development authorities. Her legal practice includes matters related to the regulation of waste, water, air, and chemical substances; business and real estate transactions; green building, green claims, and sustainability; alternative energy; site remediation; brownfield redevelopment; health and safety (OSHA); asbestos; polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs); spill prevention and response; NPDES permitting and TMDL development.

Ms. Gotanda has served on the Board of Directors of the Partnership for the Delaware Estuary (PDE) and on the Board of the Delaware Valley Green Building Council (DVGBC). She is a LEED Accredited Professional and served on the Greenbuild 2013 Host Committee. She founded the Sustainability Directors’ Roundtable and is a co-founder and Director Emeritus of the Society of Women Environmental Professionals of Greater Philadelphia. She has served as Co-Chair of the Environmental Law Committee of the Philadelphia Bar Association and as Chair of the Radnor Township Environmental Advisory Council. She also served on the Board of Directors of Shofuso Japanese House and Garden. She is a frequent speaker and author on topics of environmental law and sustainability.
