I work with behavioral children, during a behavioral crisis I placed a client in a hold; the child later put a child abuse allegation against me which led to a police investigation. I later found out I was charged with child endangerment, assault, and harassment in Chester County (I was mind-boggled).... For months it’s all I could think about! I came to Lou with my son's case of Attempted Murder and other Felonies and minor charges (5 in total), who was in Prison on a $1.5 million bail and facing 20 years in Prison. This case was... being handled by another attorney for a year before Lou got involved. The prior attorney proposed a "Plea Deal" one day before his trial that was outlandish; 7 to 15 Years on Aggravated Assault; which we rejected from the time we heard about it as we always believed our son acted in "Self Defense" to save his and his girlfriend's life from her older brother who showed up at their bedroom door with a Tactical Knife on that fateful day! This brother had a history of mental instability, although this brother was "painted" in my opinion, as a "Boy Scout" by the DA and Police detectives. Lou met with our son's Mom and me and clearly understood the facts of the case against my son immediately!! In fact, he took our retainer during the meeting on a Tuesday night and said he would not decide to cash our check until the following Friday after he had taken the time to study every aspect of the case. Lou did a very thorough review in three days and called me to tell me "He Cashed the Check', and we would be ready to defend our Son". Lou methodically presented my Son's case and picked at every potential "Flaw" of the Prosecutor's case during the trial, which resulted in my Son being found "Innocent" by Self Defense on the very serious Felony charges and he just had to answer for two minor charges, which based on time served, my Son was released from jail the very next day and was given his "second Chance at Life". Lou's counsel throughout this period was very powerful to us, as we never navigated the Criminal system before (nor do we ever want to do this again in the future).
