About Gilbert
Biography
I serve as Chairman of Curtin & Heefner's Commercial Services Section and concentrate my practice on creditors' rights, banking, bankruptcy and commercial law. I frequently lecture on topics within those areas and also on issues of ethical concerns for lawyers.
For over thirty years, I have represented financial institutions in the structuring, negotiating and closing of commercial loan transactions, including term loans, line of credit loans, bridge loans, asset based loans, letters of credit, syndications, participations, and tax free loans. I have also represented financial institutions and other creditors throughout the nation regarding restructurings, workouts, bankruptcies, and the defense of lender liability claims. In addition, I have represented bankruptcy trustees as special court appointed counsel. I have also been retained as an expert witness in litigation involving the proper method of documenting and securing asset based loans.
