Attorney Jason Beardsley was born and raised in the Northeastern Corner of Pennsylvania. Prior to returning to practice law in his hometown of Montrose and the surrounding area, Jason was a McKelvey Scholar at Slippery Rock University located in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania, and he attended Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in Cleveland, Ohio.
While Jason has many characteristics that he values in himself, the characteristic he values most is his dedication to zealously—and relentlessly— fighting to make the law work for his clients.
During law school, Jason was a Student Clinician in his school’s Employment Law Clinic. While there, Jason gained hands on experience in litigation by, among other things, representing clients in employment discrimination and unemployment matters. Jason’s cases involved unemployment hearings, administrative appeals, and discrimination charges and mediation before the Equal Opportunity Employment Commission (“EEOC”). Based on his outstanding work and dedication to his clients, Jason was named the “2011-2012 Outstanding Clinical Student of the Year,” an award presented by The Clinical Legal Education Association.
Following taking the Pennsylvania Bar Exam in July of 2012, Attorney Beardsley worked for Former Pennsylvania Attorney General Attorney Ernest D. Preate, Jr. During his time with Attorney Preate, Attorney Beardsley was exposed to a broad array of legal issues and problems, greatly augmenting his experience with Criminal Law, Family Law, and General Civil Litigation.
Attorney Beardsley’s practice based in Susquehanna County, Wyoming County, Bradford County, Lackawanna County, and the surrounding counties in Northeastern Pennsylvania now focuses on various areas of Employment Law, Family Law, Criminal Law, and General Civil Litigation at both the State and Federal Levels.

The worst lawyer yet the most expensive attorney I've ever had. Hes in it for the money and that's it. He's the talk of the county jail, infamous for screwing his clients over. There's absolutely no way these reviews are real. Disgusting

No nonsense, brutally honest and unrelenting in his pursuit of justice. His intelligence is unmatched, his tenacity is unlike any I've seen. He can take your information if honest with him, figure out a plan the same day and you can count on it being so, and will not waiver. Met him outside of the ...

Jason is a team player if you are truthful and don't play games with him. He is trustworthy and does represent the best interest of his clients. He can only work with what he is given by the client. He is a fighter and knows his work, if he is unsure he researches the facts. I feel he is one the m...

I went to Jason to file a criminal matter this past summer. He was very attentive to the specific needs of my issue. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Although, at times it was difficult to get a hold of him he always made sure to get back to me either later in the evening or the next day. He ...

I am from Lackawanna County and got referred to Attorney Beardsley through a friend. I was seeking a divorce from my husband due to infidelity. The Lackawanna County attorneys either didn't want to take my case because I didn't have any upfront money or never returned my phone calls. Attorney Beardsl...
"If you’re looking for the best private practitioner in Northeast Pennsylvania, look no further. Gritty, tenacious, dedicated, and prepared. Attorney Beardsley hails from a small town and this makes him client oriented. He is an advocate for the “little guy.” He gives personal attention to every case and will fight for you no matter what. If you’re looking for a private attorney to suit any legal need he is your man. State, federal, trial or appellate cases, no matter the case at hand he has you covered."
"I've worked on several cases against Attorney Beardsley in the last few years and I have to be honest, he is an excellent advocate. I would also define him as being honest and honorable, fair minded and guided not only by his client's needs but also by an ingrained sense of decency and a desire to achieve the right, fair result. I respect his ability and admire him as both a friend and a well-prepared, very bright adversary."

This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority in 2025.
Stayed Suspension/Probation issued in PA, 2025
updated on 12/16/2025Stayed suspension/probation means an attorney did something wrong but may still practice law. This type of suspension means the attorney has been suspended, but that the suspension is placed on hold (and ultimately removed) if the attorney complies with certain requirements. In this case the State also monitors the lawyer's activities for a period of time in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.
