Melinda C. Ghilardi

If she hadn't gone to law school, personal injury attorney Melinda C. Ghilardi says she likely would have become a social worker. That instinct to help people runs through everything she does, from genuinely advocating for her clients to staying current on the latest developments in an ever-changing field.

Before joining Munley Law Personal Injury Attorneys, Melinda spent more than three decades at the Federal Public Defender's Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. She launched her career as an Assistant District Attorney in Lackawanna County.

Melinda left the Federal Public Defender's Office in 2019 and began looking for her next challenge. When fellow Scranton Preparatory School alum Marion Munley reached out, she saw an opportunity to move into private practice at one of Pennsylvania's most respected firms. The shift from criminal to civil law was significant, but Melinda found a familiar throughline: helping individuals access the resources they need and achieve the best possible outcome in their cases.

Outside the office, Melinda enjoys traveling with family, friends, and colleagues, occasionally fostering pets, and staying close to her nieces and nephews. She lives in Lackawanna County with her husband, a retired lawyer and Air Force veteran.
