Biography
Maria Bertha was born and raised in Scranton, Pa. She is a 2005 graduate of Scranton High School, a 2009 graduate of the University of Scranton, with a BS in Political Science, and a 2012 graduate of the University of New Hampshire School of Law.
After graduating from law school and being admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar, Maria worked as a law clerk to the Honorable Margaret Bisignani Moyle, who sits on the Lackawanna County Court of Common Pleas, from August 2012 to August 2014. In this position, Maria dealt largely with family law cases, including issues of custody and relocation, dependency, alimony and child support, divorce, and protection from abuse.
After leaving this position, Maria worked in insurance defense from August 2014 to July 2015, before returning to her roots in family law in August 2015, when she joined O'Malley Law Offices.
Maria sits on the Board of Directors for the Young Lawyer's Division of the Lackawanna Bar Association, is an active member of the music ministry at her church, St. Paul's Parish in Scranton, and is also a member of the Junior League of Scranton.
