Outstanding Expertise in U.S.-Greece Legal Matters – Highly Recommended! I recently worked with George and the team at Hahalis & Kounoupis to handle a complex inheritance matter involving property and accounts in Greece. Most unprofessional lawyer. EXTREMELY RUDE! Spoke to him about a month ago about debt and inheritances over in Greece. Decided to hire him about a month later. Was told I would receive an email addressing our conversation and never did. When I called to schedule a second conference they had no recoll...ection of our phone conversation. Not my email phone number or even name. Waited a week to speak to him agian. For him to now say he didn't want to take my case. Originally I explained that I am unsure of the affairs in Greece. He explained that I didn't have to worry about that because this is "what he does". After speaking with him the second time he now wants me to email him every detail. Which I do not know. Basically he was a waste of time and extremely rude. Don't go to this guy.

I selected attorneys Kounoupis and Alpago after consulting with and reviewing several other employment law attorneys recommended to me familiar with employment law. It was straightforward with my prepared information and questions, I found his candidness refreshing, the consultation fee was worth it..., and the retainer and agreement was reasonable. In that this was an EEOC related case, the process and procedural time frames are established by law/regulation. Submissions were always on time and within the schedule they provided and established. My questions and any concerns were addressed within 24 hours. I personally found it a pleasure working with both attorneys Kounoupis and Alpago. My recommendation to others is to 1) be prepared and organized with your information and documentation so they can more effectively assess and assist you, 2) be reasonable in your expectations of what you want and/or the outcome you desire, 3) listen to their counsel and advice before you make your decision (they do have your best interests in mind and present the realities of all your choices), 4) ask questions and be honest (they can't know what's in your mind and your own disappointment may be your failure to fully understand your choices, the law relating to your case, and other factors that can influence it - they were always candid and direct even before making recommendations) and 5) let them do their job, that's what you're paying them for (which, for them is different than the other "you don't pay if we don't collect" firms). The time frame of my case was more a function of getting through the EEOC process, filing a federal lawsuit, and obtaining a positive resolution. It happened exactly as they described, according to the time frames they provided, and were easy to work with. Would absolutely recommend they without reservation.

Mr. Kounoupis claims that he is "honest" and an "expert" in both American and Greek law. His ads convinced me to hire him to handle a real estate issue in Greece. He asked and received a large retainer and a very high hourly rate.for this specific job. Soon afterwards he sent me a letter tellin...g me that before he could start working on the job I hired him for, he had to straighten out some other legal issues that were completely unrelated to the job I hired him for. When I insisted that he should stick to the job as stated in our contract, he stopped responding to my calls and e-mails. For this reason, I had to fire this highly dishonest lawyer .... I lost the large retainer and got nothing in return but frustration and disappointment.

I hired this lawyer for a civil case involving real estate. He asked and received a large retainer. Since then he was not available when I tried to communicate with him repeatedly for over three months period. Obviously, I had to fire this lawyer but he kept all the retainer even if he did absolut...ely nothing for me. I believe Mr. Kounoupis is a highly dishonest person and I caution anybody who plans to hire him to look better into this lawyers background and, for sure, avoid paying him a large retainer.
