EXCELLENT lawyer, specializing in bankruptcy, reasonable fees

I needed to file bankruptcy and the first lawyer I hired not only ripped me off, he expected me to do all the paperwork myself. Alaine charged a very reasonable amount and was absolutely wonderful to work with. She made my unfortunate situation not feel so bad.

Totally unprofessional! My meeting (first consultation) ended in a shouting match after less than 15 minutes.

The 9am meeting started fine; she greeted me with a handshake, to which I reciprocated cordially. My wife was conferenced in on the phone, and we started to discuss the matter. First, the conversation was going mis-directed, as the discussion consentrated on a tertiary matter, rather than the primary... matter at hand (per my emial to her). Apparently, she did not even peruse the primary document I sent her, as she had the other document printed, but not hte one that I wanted to discuss. Anyway, when we said we just want to have her go through the document and share her thoughts on the matter, for whatever the reason, she started to say "If you want a short answer, you are not going to get one..." and started ranting about how she can name tons of attorneys that will say the same thing. As the conversation proceeded, it quickly escalated to her screaming at my wife over the phone, and I interceded by asking her what was going on. She ignored that and continued to yell at my wife offensively. I left her office after she and I exchanged few expletives. I am still shocked as to why and how she became so irrate, super-loud, and totally unprofessional. She did not want to listen to us as to voice our true concern about the matter, rather, she, apparently, had her own agenda. I cannot believe I was referred to her from another attorney in town!!

Our Advocate

Alaine was very helpful during this trying period. She took time to review our options but did not push one way or the other. Alaine even did some extra work to get us the best deal that was not immediately apparent. The only thing that could have been better was getting back to me quickly. But... I undersatnd how busy she is.

My experience with Alaine

Alaine has been my lawyer for over 2 years. I am a widow on a limited income. She helped my Son with his debts. She helped me tremendously ...both emotionally and financially. She is very personable. I would come in unannounced to see her, and she always took time to be with me

Just Fine

Overall she and her receptionist remembered the majority of my "issues." She didn't suggest that I go right out and declare bankruptcy either, in other words she didn't seem like a "predator." It took me a few months to decide to file or not. The only drawback to me was her fees. My case was VERY... simple and should not have cost that much. But, when compared to other bankruptcy lawyers she was a little cheaper. Overall everything was done well and it's OVER!
