Three young adults were burned to death in a car accident, when one of them, while intoxicated, lost control of his car and collided with a gas pipe, causing an inferno. The pipe was attached to a buil ... ding along the street where the incident occurred; it was owned and maintained by Southern California Gas Company. The parents of the two passengers brought suit against the driver and owner of the involved car, as well as the Gas Co., claiming negligent maintenance of the gas pipe contributed to each victim's untimely death.
