Richard Karl Konkel

Richard concentrates his practice in family law, estate planning and administration, and real estate law. He believes that these areas of law naturally compliment each other and finds that he is able to form the most satisfying client relationships by providing these services to his clients and their families. Richard most enjoys acting in a "trusted advisor" role, helping his clients reach milestones and navigate life challenges. He credits much of his success in being able to develop strong bonds and providing emotional support during difficult situations. Richard aims to be objective and focused, allowing him to provide valuable legal counsel in very personal matters.

Prior to joining CGA Law Firm, Richard owned and successfully grew a solo practice in York for more than six years. By joining CGA Law Firm, Richard finds he is able to provide his clients with the added value of the resources of all the firm's attorneys. He is able to work with attorneys in bankruptcy, tax, business, employment law and litigation areas to serve all of his clients' legal his practice, Richard provides a full range of services in the areas of family law, estate planning and administration, and real estate law.

Richard is a life-long resident of York County with deep roots in the southeastern part of the county. He often gives presentations in churches and other community organizations on estate planning. He is a historian and genealogist and as such, is an advocate of agricultural land preservation to preserve the character and nature of York County.

An avid musician, Richard likens his legal practice to his role in the York Symphony Orchestra; while he is able to make beautiful music as a soloist on his cello, it pales in comparison to the power, majesty and beauty of the whole symphony orchestra playing together. CGA is a lot like a symphony orchestra, each area of specialty has its role and working together in concert allows the firm to serve all of our clients’ needs. His creativity extends beyond both his musical and legal talents. Richard also appears on stage as a member of the Bar Stools, a local comedic troupe of attorneys that poke fun at politics and themselves.
