Grandparent Visitation
Oct 27, 2015OUTCOME: Grandmother received significant visitation with the grandchild, phone privileges, and assistance in travel costs associated with that visitation.
The mother of a young child was diagnosed with a terminal illness that prevented her from caring for her child. Custody of the child was transferred to the father and the mother moved away so that fami ... ly could care for her. After the move and prior to her death, the mother and her family spent significant time with the child, but frequent issues arose with the father. Just prior to the mother's death, I helped her mother intervene in the case to ensure visitation with the child would continue after the mother was gone.
