I had doubts but he proved me wrong!

My husband and I just went through an extensive 8 month custody battle with my step son's mother. She has had custody of my step son for the last 12 years. There was never a custody agreement in place but her current situation as a part time waitress with 6 kids to 3 fathers and her decision making p...rocess has left my son in a negligent and chaotic household. We knew we were able to provide him a much better life. However, traditionally it is very difficult for a father to take primary custody over the mother in pennsylvania. Scott was very honest with us during the whole process. He never once left us with the impression that he was in this for money. He told us what would hurt us and what would help us. I gathered a lot of evidence over the months to use against her which I thought would be very useful. Once trial came he asked my husband and I questions about our life, home schedules, our son's life at our house, he presented the judge with pictures of us doing things as a family. My step son's mother's attorney did nothing but attack my husband and I for petty things. When trial was over I will admit I didn't feel confident. Hardly any of the evidence I provided was used. My step son's mother lied repeatedly on the stand. At first I was not happy, Scott did not attack like her lawyer did. Well once the order came in from the judge I PUT MY FOOT IN MY MOUTH!! The judges reasonings for awarding US primary custody covered EVERYTHING Scott pulled out at trial! He didn't attack which displeased me but he clearly knew what he was doing! Judges apparently don't like when lawyers attack. Scott covered every one of the custody factors the judge reviews. I will say he isn't the greatest at returning phone calls but we were able to get ahold of him in emergency situations. Also, now that the custody trial is over and we are finding out the advice my step son's mother's attorney was giving her was CRAP. She came off as this tough no BS lawyer but was telling my step son's mother that she shouldn't communicate with him about what he wanted "because a 12 year old doesn't get an opinion". Scott took multiple opportunities to talk to our son and let him voice his opinions and desires. We won custody and Scott made that happen. A father was able to get custody from the mother after 12 years! He will be honest with you but if he tells you he feels you have a good chance I ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND YOU USE HIM!!!
