OUTCOME: Trial Court Affirmed.

Anupam Singla (“Husband”) appealed the May 23, 2017 final order and judgment of the Chancery Court for Williamson County (“the Trial Court”), which, among other things, awarded Anupam Garg Singla (“Wif ... e”) a divorce on the ground of inappropriate marital conduct, found that Husband had dissipated marital assets, divided the marital property, awarded Wife rehabilitative alimony and alimony in futuro, and entered a Permanent Parenting Plan for the parties’ minor child. Husband raised issues regarding the awards of alimony, the finding that he dissipated marital assets, and whether the distribution of marital assets was equitable. The Court of Appeals found and held that the Trial Court did not err in finding that Husband had dissipated marital assets. They further found and held that the Trial Court did not err in awarding Wife rehabilitative alimony and alimony in futuro, and that the Trial Court did not err in its division of the marital assets. The Court, therefore, affirmed.

This case involves a contentious divorce between parties who share one minor child. After a two-day bench trial, the trial court granted the wife a divorce on the ground of inappropriate marital conduc ... t. The husband appealed raising numerous issues related to property classification, valuation, and division. He also challenged the alimony awards of rehabilitative and alimony in solido, in the form of attorney's fees, and child support determination. After review of the record, the Court of Appeals affirmed all the issues of classification of property, valuation of property, division of property, alimony, and attorney's fees. The case was remanded for the single issue of a new determination of the husband’s income for the purpose of his child support obligation.

OUTCOME: Case was remanded

This was an appeal that involved competing petitions to modify a residential parenting schedule in a permanent parenting plan. The child's mother sought changes to the day-to-day schedule, a modificati ... on of the existing child support order, and to be named sole decision-maker. The child's father sought additional parenting time. Following a trial, the juvenile court modified the residential schedule, granting the father more parenting time. The court also ordered the father to pay his portion of the child's preschool tuition, but the court denied the mother's requests for sole decision-making authority and for attorney's fees. Upon review of the record and the juvenile court's findings concerning the father, we conclude that the court erred in adopting the modified residential schedule. We, therefore, vacate and remand for further proceedings on this issue. We affirm in all other respects. In re Emmett D., No. M201601372COAR3JV, 2017 WL 2895936, at *1 (Tenn. Ct. App. July 7, 2017)
